Cafe Forte – Sidewalk cafe in the heart of Old Town

If you are yearning for a quaint European sidewalk cafe in the heart of Old Town’s gallery district, then Cafe Forte is just what you are looking for. Cafe Forte is owner operated and is dedicated to the use of chemical free, all natural ingredients (including all natural, hormone free chicken and beef, organic produce and organic whole grain pasta) whenever possible. They have also built a loyal following, especially on Thursday night during the art walk, where it has become the scene to be seen.

The menu offers the a wide range of salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), burgers, soups and pasta as well as the daily Quiche special which you can find on the chalk board along with the soup of the day. Schmooze loves Quiche but instead opted for the Bistro Club Sandwich and a salad. The sandwich was wonderful, full of roasted turkey breast, provolone cheese and crispy bacon. If a hot sandwich is more to your liking, try the European Black Forest Sandwich, which is served open face on a croissant. Cafe Forte also features a wide range of salads including a Sashimi Seared Ahi Tuna Salad (wed-sat only) definitely a salad that Schmooze will be back to try.

Dinner is served Wednesday – Saturday from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm and features a full range of delectable selections, but a personal favorite is the Wild Salmon Salad served warm with an Asian vinaigrette or perhaps the Gorgonzola Crusted Angus Sirloin Steak for those heartier appetite’s. Now that spring is around the corner, Cafe Forte might be the perfect destination for a lovely outdoor meal on the sidewalk sipping an espresso or a glass of wine and enjoying Old Town ambiance.
